West of the City "Girls Night Out"

On May 19, Classy Interiors participated in an exciting evening at the Oakville Conference Centre and was welcomed by many who attended the show as to the booth design and the effort to bring something different to the show. The design started with the new electric fireplace that can be placed anywhere in the home including the bathroom. The backwall was wallpapered in metallic cork by Thibault which has just released new designs for 2011. The gold colour of the wallpaper really made the fireplace pop. The soft picture above the fireplace is of a tulip and is very striking on the wall. The area rug brought into the booth wonderful colours of gold/orange/creams and browns. The couch and glass tables added to the contemporary look and the glass accented the design of the rug. A punch of blue/green pillows made the room look warm and inviting. The accent chair in soft yellow is upholstered in Barbara Barry fabric and is the new design in chairs. Many guests thought that the booth was a show stopper and with the support of wonderful suppliers I was able to pull it together. Abbey Graphics of Oakville provided some amazing photos for display and purchase including the large photo over the fireplace.
I would like to thank the following suppliers for the booth:

CobbleSTONEmbers of Oakville
Upcountry Furnishings of Burlington
Minster Interiors of Mississauga
Kravet Canada of Mississauga

Home and Garden Show at the Hamilton Convention Centre

Home and Garden Show at the Hamilton Convention Centre - Classy Interiors

On March 12, 13 and 14, I was again invited to participate in the Home and Garden Show at the Hamilton Convention Centre. Many excellent companies displayed their wares and attendance was high for those wanting to know what is new and how do they complete the dream renovation and who to hire. I provided Ask a Designer Services for the three days where the public could ask questions for a free 15 minute consultation. I also participated on the Design Stage and presented a seminar on Downsizing and all that goes with it. I was fortunate in following right after Jim Caruk of Real Renos who had the crowd all excited about construction and renovations. We did get to meet briefly and had a few laughs about his work and mine.

Teresa Thompson of Abbey Graphics prepared the power point presentation with me and provided the technical backup for the show. Thanks again Teresa. This show is very well run and people attend from as far as Fort Erie.

I am also attending the Tea For Two Seminar on March 28, 2010 for the support of Women Moving Women to be held at the Rattlesnake Point Golf Club. This important event is supported by CWF and supports nearly 1000 programs across Canada. Watch for my blog for pictures and information on this worthy cause. Maybe I will see you there!
